Asin Thottumkal (born October 26, 1985) is an award winning actress of the Indian state of Kerala. Currently, she is considered one of the most popular actresses in the film industry in southern India. Making her acting debut in Sathyan Anthikkad Narendra Makan Jayakanthan Vaka (2001), Asin had first commercial success with Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammaia in 2003 and won a Filmfare Award for Best Actress for the film Telugu. After a series of critical and commercially successful films, she received her second South Filmfare Award for best actress for her performance in her second Tamil film, Ghajini (2005). She played the female lead in two consecutive top large series, Ghajini (2005), her biggest commercial success to date, and the action-comedy varalaru (2006) and were created in this way than most actresses for the leading South Indian cinema. More recently, Asin made a debut in Bollywood, in Ghajini, the remake of Tamil namesake. She began her training in Naval Public School, Kochin. She completed her first level of English Literature at the University of St. Teresa's College, Kochi. It has changed a lot since her home town Kochi to Chennai, where she stays on Harrington Road. Before becoming an actress, she was part-time model and a businesswoman.
